Stage 2 Workplace Practices 20 or 10 credit options

Are you an elite swimmer interested in a flexible SACE subject that incorporates your intensive training and competition commitments into a Stage 2 subject?

Workplace Practices is a Tertiary Admissions Subject (TAS) contributing towards an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) and has proven to be ideal for this  purpose.

Each year Marden Senior College enrols a large number of students in Stage 2 Workplace Practices (previously called Vocational Studies). Stage 2 Workplace Practices  encapsulates and validates the student’s current level of commitment in their sport equating it to the ‘workplace’. The course is designed to ensure that any  additional commitment to workload for students is minimal. The course is  delivered externally (offline) by Marden Senior College staff, with swim coaches  being the verifying training authorities. You can be in year 10, 11 or 12 to do  this Stage 2 subject!

In the past we have  generally enrolled students directly through contact with families and the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI). This year students who wish to register interest in our Workplace Practices course (using their elite swimming, refereeing or coaching role) should visit our website, www.mardensc.sa.edu.au/ and fill in the Eligibility Form  and return it to us ASAP.

The enrolment process for Marden Senior College begins in mid November. As part of this process we will invite all  students who register  interest, to an information session at which time we will  also assess their eligibility to enrol in the subject and then begin the enrolment process.

If you require further clarification please contact us by email at wkpractices@msc.sa.edu.au.
