The Australian Youth Performance Squad (YPS) is an exciting new initiative designed to reward swimmers aged 13-18 for their performances in the pool. The YPS is an extension of the Junior Excellence program which recognises and rewards 9-13 year olds. Similar to Junior Excellence, YPS rewards swimmers for achieving particular time standards set by Swimming Australia. West Coast Swimmers Levi Proude and Luke Andrews have both achieved YPS Qualifying Times. Levi has reached bronze level qualification which recognises that he has made National Qualifying Times for the Australian Age Championships. Luke Andrews has reached blue level qualification which means he is only a hairs breath away from the same opportunity. YPS qualifyers recieve recognititon by way of:
A customised YPS towel based upon their level of achievement
A YPS swimming cap, DVD and poster
